Want to help support the industry by joining our volunteer programme?

The new International Brewing & Cider Festival is all about supporting industry and is run as a not for profit event, therefore we rely on the help of our volunteers.

Whether you’re in the industry or not this is a great opportunity to get a behind the scenes look at what goes into running a festival of this kind as well gaining first hand knowledge about the oldest international brewing and cider awards in the world.

What to expect:

A friendly welcome from the organising team and an event briefing about your role at the festival

Behind the scenes view of our event and how things run

A chance to serve winning beers and ciders from the competition

Play a front of house role and interact with the ticket holders

Opportunities to meet with different brewers and cider makers and learn about their businesses and processes

A food and drink voucher for during your shift session

1 x complimentary token ticket to one of the other sessions*

A volunteer t-shirt

What we expect from you:

A friendly, professional and approachable attitude

No sampling/drinking during your shift

Working well under the instruction of the event manager

Adhering to health and safety measures at all times

Purchasing a ticket for your free session (if applicable)*

*If you opt to attend the Friday PM session using your complimentary ticket you will need to purchase a ticket at full price, a full refund will be given once you have completed your volunteer session.

Overview of General Crew:

General event crew may be asked to do a variety of roles such as bartending, ticketing, glass distribution and general organisation of key areas. We will do our best to rotate you across different areas of the festival during your shift so you get a feel for each element of the event.

Some roles may require heavy lifting, please specify during sign up if you are able to take on any heavy duty roles.

Want to be a part of the oldest brewing and cider awards in the world? Help steward the awards competition – setup is the 15-18th March 2024 and the judging takes place on the 19-21st March 2024. Learn about the history of the awards and how the competition is setup and operates.

Stewarding during the setup will require unpacking and setting out all the beer and cider entries, helping set up the judging area and general tidying. Setup days usually run from 8am-5pm.*

Stewarding during the judging will require pouring the beers and ciders for the judging, glass collecting. liaising with the event organising team and general tidying. Judging days usually run from 7.30am-5.30pm*

Stewards, in addition to a free ticket to one of the public sessions of the festival, will receive awards branded clothing and food and refreshments during their shifts.
